How to Start a Blog
If you can dream it, you can do it!
It's so true, and once you do it, stick to it, because if you take the right steps and don't give up, you will earn success. It won't be overnight, but listen to us, it will happen!
Step 1: The first thing you need to do, is select a name and a theme that aligns with it! Blogging takes a lot of work and commitment, so you need to make sure you're writing about something you enjoy. Something that doesn't feel like work to you! That thing you think about in your free time. Some popular blogs areas are cooking, crafting, lifestyle, fashion, outdoors, or travel!
Step 2: Make sure there's not an existing business or blog out there with the same name. You can search your state's Secretary of State website to verify.
Step 3: Register your domain name. It should be something on topic, fun, and memorable! You can easily do this at GoDaddy or Bluehost.
Step 4: Make sure you purchase hosting when you get your domain name.
Step 5: Purchase a blog theme that you like! Have some fun customizing it. Choose colors for your brand. Add your logo, and really make it your own. Remember, you will be spending a lot of time on your blog sharing thoughts, insights and advice, so you need to LOVE it. If you don't love it, how would you ever expect your readers to?
Step 6: Start drafting content. Many people like to "batch their content" in order to get a weekly plan ready.
Step 7: When you post your first post, make sure to fill out all of your metadata. Add great images with titles, and always make a Pinterest graphic so that those who visit can save the post to their boards!

Step 9: Be sure to add a signup form to your blog in hopes that people will like to keep in touch with you and hear when you have a new post!
